Dr. Patricia J. Ungar And Family, DVM, CVA

Patricia Ungar, owner and principal veterinarian of Kensington Veterinary Hospital is originally from Cincinnati, Ohio. She earned a B.S. majoring in Biology from The Colorado College in 1979, and is a 1984 graduate of The Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine. She originally specialized in equine (horse) medicine, but since 1985 has focused on small animal medicine and surgery. She has a special interest in holistic veterinary medicine. In 1990 she obtained her Certificate in Veterinary Acupuncture, and has completed advanced training in Classical Homeopathy and Chinese Herbal Medicine. Dr. Ungar is a member of the California Veterinary Medical Association, American Veterinary Medical Association, American Animal Hospital Association, the International Veterinary Acupuncture Association and the American Academy of Veterinary Acupuncture. She, her husband, three children and four cats live in the Kensington area.

Dr. Victoria Jordan, DVM, CVA

Victoria Jordan is a native San Diegan who earned a Bachelor of Arts in Zoology from U. C. Berkeley in 1973 and her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from U.C. Davis in 1978. After completing an internship in Small Animal Medicine and Surgery at the Angell Memorial Animal Hospital in Boston, she returned to practice in San Diego. She received her certification in veterinary acupuncture (CVA) in 2000. Her special veterinary interests are internal medicine, feline medicine, and Traditional Chinese Medicine. Dr. Jordan is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, the San Diego County Veterinary Medical Association, the American Association of Feline Practitioners, the International Veterinary Acupuncture Society and the American Academy of Veterinary Acupuncture. She shares her home with eight cats

Dr. Michelle Mason, DVM

Michelle Mason was born and raised in San Diego. After graduating from Cornell University with a Bachelor of Arts in Chemistry, she earned her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from U.C. Davis in 1988. She spent three years in Australia working in a hospital specializing in dermatology and exotic animals and returned to the United States in 1991.

Dr. Mason is a member of the San Diego County Veterinary medical Association and the American Veterinary Medical Association. She lives in San Diego with her husband, two daughters, a Labrador retriever mix and two cats. She enjoys spending time with her family, hiking, camping and skiing in her spare time.

Dr. Kathy Kaleka, DVM

Kathy Kaleka was born and raised in Phoenix, Arizona. She studied biology at the University of Arizona and obtained her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine at Washington State University in 1991. She moved from Phoenix to San Diego in 1996. Dr. Kaleka teaches part time at San Diego Mesa College in the Registered Veterinary Technician program, volunteers for the Feral Cat Coalition and Veterinarians for World Animal Health Organization. In her free time she plays volleyball, hikes and mountain bikes. She is a member of the San Diego County Veterinary Medical Association, the American Veterinary Medical Association and the Arizona Veterinary Medical Association. She has two cats.

Dr. Melissa Vollaire, DVM

Melissa Vollaire was born in Colorado Springs, CO and raised in Michigan. She received her BS in Biology at Colorado State University in 2000, and earned her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Colorado State in 2004.

She is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association and the San Diego County Veterinary Medical Association. She has recently returned from volunteering for the Hurricane Katrina Disaster Relief and is active in other pet disaster relief organizations. In her spare time she dotes on her two cats, her beagle and a doxy mix. She enjoys traveling, hiking, the beach, football and shopping.
